Texans Are All About Cotton..
Cotton is the most important crop in Texas. In the late 1800's the typical texan wasn't a rancher they were a cotton farmer. Cotton was twice as large as just regular crop for the most part. In the year 1900 alone, the production of cotton just about doubled. Cotton was spreading really fast throughout the state of texas. Railroads were also a major role in the cotton industry.
Proceso Martinez
Proceso Martinez was the one who introdused cotton to the Rio Grande Valley. Proceso was a leader of business and agriculture, but he also helped texas out with more then just that. He also brought some of the first plow to us, and also brought some corn platers.
