Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be done the same way as in the fall. Below you will find the plans for each level. As always, FPS strives for 100% participation!


Pre K and Elementary

  • Conferences are from March 1 - 25

  • Teachers will be reaching out to schedule these with families

  • The conferences will be by google meet or phone



Middle School

  • Conferences will be scheduled from March 1 - 25

  • Advisory teachers will facilitate the conference schedule based on the needs of the family

  • The conferences will be by Google Meet or phone



High School

  • Parents/Guardians--please contact the teachers you wish to schedule a 10-minute conference with.
  • Parents/Guardians have the option of format: Google Meet, email, or phone call.
  • When you contact the teacher, the teacher will have dates and times ready to offer.
  • Conference dates are Monday, March 1 - Thursday, March 25.
  • Seminar teachers will follow up with parents/guardians that have not contacted any of their student's teachers for a conference. Please respond if a Seminar teacher reaches out, we do not want you to miss an opportunity to discuss your student's progress.
  • Parents/Guardians of a student that has a D or an F will be contacted by that specific teacher.

Communications from FPS

If you did NOT receive a text message on our recent early dismissal for inclement weather, please take a look at the instructions for opting into receiving them. FPS will not use a phone message for early dismissals. Please see below.


Please be sure to check your information in the Parent Portal for accuracy. In order to receive important messages via text from FPS, you MUST opt-in if you haven't already done so. You can do this by texting Y or Yes to 67587 on your mobile device.


FPS does not have permission to use text messages without your permission.

Inclement Weather - School Cancelation and Transportation Information

School Closing Information
Winter weather will be here before we know it, and the Fulton Public Schools are preparing for the inevitable snow day. Officials consider many things when making decisions on inclement weather days; however, the final decision is always determined by what is best for the students. Student safety is the top priority of our school district.


Cancelation of School

As soon as the decision is made to cancel school, the district will launch the School Messenger phone messaging system to call the home or cell number you have provided the school upon enrollment of your child (if during the school day, an email and text message will be sent--not a phone call.) Please make sure this information is correct in our system. The district will also notify TV stations KOMU - channel 8, KRCG - channel 13, and KMIZ - channel 17. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ASKS PARENTS OR GUARDIANS NOT TO CALL SCHOOLS OR TELEVISION STATIONS ABOUT THE CANCELATION OF SCHOOL. The website address – www.fulton58.org - will be updated with early dismissal and cancelation notices as well as Facebook--Fulton Public Schools and Twitter-- @FPSHornets.


Early Dismissal

Occasionally, school will be dismissed early due to bad weather. If an early dismissal is required, an announcement will be made that school will be dismissed a specific number of hours early from the building’s normal dismissal time. School buses will run beginning at the dismissal time announced on those days school is canceled in midday.

Mask Requirement for Events

Everyone who attends an event in any Fulton Public Schools building will be required to wear a mask while in the FPS building.

Pay Rate: $85 per day for a teacher substitute

$10.66 per hour for a para substitute

$110 per day for a long term teacher substitute


Requirements:

60 College Credit Hours OR


A Content Substitute certificate may also be granted to an individual who has a high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) and has successfully completed a minimum of twenty (20) clock hours of department-approved substitute teacher training that includes professionalism, honoring diversity, engaging students, foundational classroom management techniques, basic instructional strategies, supporting students with special needs, and working with at-risk youth.
