We have 4 Amazing Social Workers that support Transition Plus!
Please let Jeanne, JoAnn, Laura and Rachel know how much you value them this week!
DOOR 6
It's time to build the 2020-2021 Master Schedule!
We need a team to help create the master schedule for next year. Please discuss with your teams to elect a representative to help create another year of excellent programming for our current and future students. Please send names of participating individuals to
Rachel P. by Friday , 3/6.
A representative from Minneapolis College's Power of You program will be coming to speak with students on Friday, March 6th at 10:00am in Patricia's room, T201. Power of You is a program in which qualifying students can attend supported, tuition-free college at MC for up to 3 years or 72 attempted credits.
Eligibility criteria includes:
Student/family income must not exceed $55,000/year for a family of 2-10
Graduation date of June 2020
Score above Adult Basic Education level in reading, writing, and math on the Accuplacer (see Rachel for specific score requirements)
Agree to commitments of the program
We have several former TPlus grads participating in POY this year, and I have heard nothing but positive feedback from them on how their year is going thus far. POY is an excellent option for graduating students who are looking for a post-secondary experience, but either did not meet the reading/GPA requirements for PSEO or needed all three years here at TPlus.
Please encourage interested students to attend the info session and/or reach out to Rachel P. for application steps!
Project Search Applications are now available in T227 (Work Coordinators office).
SEL message
Hello Amazing Staff!
Couple of quick SEL reminders:
Try to incorporate the 3 signature practices in all your lessons. These are:
1. Warm welcome
2. Engaging practices
3. Optimistic close
These are the same practices we use at all our staff meetings.
We should all be working on Relationship Skills in our Advisory groups. SEL activities for this and other areas of SEL are in the Google Drive. Just a note that the table of contents is under constructions. Relationship Skills is in the 4th of 5 sections.
You can access the document here: SEL Activities
Don’t forget to set an intention for the day or week
We need BINGO prizes!!!
You can bring them to the main office. Thanks!
"We are providing the required StepUp training for 20 of our students (50 total T+ applicants) here at Transition Plus.
Those 20 students have received an email that they can satisfy the StepUp training here at school on Tuesday, March 3rd AND Thursday, March 5th. Both days are required from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the Small Kitchen.
All other StepUp applicants are assigned to the Saturday, March 7th date at MCTC.
If any student cannot make their assigned training dates, they should call StepUp to reschedule. If one of our "T+ 20 students" cannot attend next week on Tuesday or Thursday, they will be able to call and reschedule for a Saturday session.
Please ask the work coordinators if you have any questions.
Hi Transition Plus!
Do you have students who need work experience to put on their resumes?
Do you have students who need to improve their employability skills?
Do you have a student who enjoys using the computer, scanner, laminator, and copier, as well as performing other clerical duties such as data entry, cutting, binding, hole-punching and more?
Then your student should sign up for The Scan Lab! The Scan Lab is a perfect place for students on Team 1, 2, and 3 to build resumes and employability skills in school!
Scan Lab still has openings for 2nd and 5th hour Monday/Wednesday and 2nd hour Tuesday! Get your student signed up before classes fill up!
If you have students who would be interested in this opportunity, please sign them up with Rachel Prince!
