Applying to College Successfully: Tips and Advice From Experienced Admission Counselors
This evening event is targeted towards Seniors and their parents, but is open to students and parent of all ages. Megan O’Rourke, Associate Dean of Enrollment at Providence College, and Mike Melinder, Midwest Enrollment Manager at the University of Toledo, will be at North to talk students through the application, admission, and enrollment process. In addition to their current schools, they have experience at schools such as Marquette and the University of Iowa. Megan and Mike have spoken at North several times and students and parents always find it to be an informative and entertaining evening. There will be time for questions from the audience.

PARENTS NEEDED FOR CAREER TALK DAYS AT ST. CHARLES NORTH H.S.
The St. Charles North LRC is planning a weekly Career Talk Day for our students during the 2021-2022 school year.
We are inviting you, our students’ parents, to come in and share your unique career story and the path that lead you to where you are today. Our goal is inspire students with the many career choices that exist today and the various pathways to success that are available now to help them find a rewarding and fulfilling career.

Financial Aid Night-Save the Date!
The D303 Financial Aid Night will be hosted on Monday, September 27th beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Norris Cultural Arts Center (NCAC) at St. Charles East HS. Mary Crowe from Elgin Community College’s Financial Aid Office will be on hand to provide an overview of the college financial aid process and to answer questions from the audience. This event is open to all students and parents.

Elgin Community College is offering a series of College & Career events for the fall and spring semesters. Session topics include The Start of College Decisions, Financial Aid 101, Early College Credit options, Professional Etiquette, Discovering Careers, Career Clusters & Opportunities, Successful Interviewing and more. All events are free and open to the public. Events will be held virtually over Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7 P.M. unless otherwise noted.
