Learn more about key steps and principles for guiding new business building, and be part of our local network of entrepreneurs and creatives. Get the tools needed to grow big ideas, develop effective plans, and move into production.
Entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs of all ages are welcome, including current business owners interested in business development and expansion. Our local entrepreneurial and creative community includes college students, high school students and their families, and adults from every decade.

Presenters
Brad is an Entrepreneur in Residence for the Southern Tier Startup Alliance and Rev: Ithaca Startup Works. He is also Entrepreneurial Faculty at both Ithaca College and the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, as well as a consultant and board member for several technology startups.
Brad was most recently the founding CEO of Mezmeriz, a high-tech company making interactive projects and reality capture cameras to embed into mobile phones. Mezmeriz is based on patented MEMS technology developed by company co-founder Shahyaan Desai at Cornell.
Brad was also the co-founder and CEO of SightSpeed, an innovative video and voice communications company. Together with co-founders Aron Rosenberg and Cornell Professor Toby Berger, Brad grew SightSpeed from a university research project into the world's premier video calling software.
Earlier in his career, Brad worked for eight years in the automotive industry in both the US and Spain at Bowles Fluidics and GKN Automotive. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State, and an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell.
Dominick is a senior at Ithaca College studying Communication Management and Design. Dominick is currently the student body president, representing over 6,000 students. He has been an aspiring entrepreneur since his first year at Ithaca, and has participated in 4 business plan competitions with 4 different business ideas. Dominick teaches social entrepreneurship to local high schools in the Ithaca City School District, and has won an international United Way Promising Practices in Education award for his work. Dominick aspires to start a business at some point following his graduation from Ithaca in 2016.
Ronald Otis Jennings is presently a business owner, motivational speaker, and educational consultant. He has lectured and conducted in-service training and workshops in over 200 high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools throughout New York State. Otis has also served in many government positions, most notably as Syracuse Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs. As Commissioner, he traveled to the Middle East and Israel to develop educational, cultural, and sports programming at the end of the “Intifada.” Otis is a graduate of State University College at Cortland where he completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Public Health and Health Education, and he received a Master Training Certification in Construction from the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
In 2009, Otis fulfilled a dream by becoming the first African American in the history of the City of Syracuse to win his party’s endorsement to run for Mayor. Even though he lost to a worthy opponent, the experience taught him about the importance of people, relationships, and community.
Palmatier graduated from Oxford Academy in 1974. He spent one year at Verrazano College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Upon the College's bankruptcy (not his fault) he returned to the area and worked with his father at Gilbert Machine and Tool. Palmatier purchased the company in 1984, and changed the company’s focus from general machining to machining/fabrication/assembly for the aerospace industry. In 2007 he also founded Walking Ridge Development, a broad line consulting firm. That company focuses on planning, economic development, program evaluation, and workforce development.
Palmatier is a founding member and Vice-President of the Chenango County Blues Association. He serves on the boards of The Chenango Memorial Hospital, SUNY Morrisville’s Norwich Campus Advisory Council, Commerce Chenango’s Governmental Affairs Committee, the Chenango County Job Services Employer Committee, and the Department of Labor’s Delaware, Chenango and Otsego STEM Council.
