Graduation, Commencement...What's the Difference?
Graduation is the actual completion of degree requirements.
Commencement is the ceremony which recognizes the completion of your degree.
You can graduate from Framingham State without participating in the Commencement Ceremony.
First Things First: Candidacy for Graduation
Before a graduating student is invited to register for Commencement, they must complete the Notice of Candidacy for Graduation available on-line or at the Office of the Registrar located in the Student Services Center, McCarthy Center, Fifth Floor.
If you plan to participate in the Commencement Ceremony, please complete this form to receive all notifications related to submitting your information for the program. The Candidacy Form is CRITICAL to participating in the Commencement Ceremony, as it connects to our confirmation of participation in the actual ceremony.
One last thing...
Receipt of this email DOES NOT mean that you are eligible to graduate or participate in the Commencement Ceremony. It is the responsibility of each student (that's you!) to confirm your eligibility to graduate from Framingham State University.
