Holy Spirit Newsletter
Newsletter Week 1 - Tuesday 2nd February, 2022
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents
Sincere thanks to you all and your children for the wonderful start to the new school year this week. It was great to see all the children in correct school uniform and so happy to be back with us all at school. Fingers crossed for a continued uninterrupted journey through the first term and remainder of the year.
A brief assembly yesterday allowed is to welcome all our new students and discuss our expectations, school rules and protocols. Here at Holy Spirit we endeavour to create challenging, interesting and fun learning opportunities for all our students across the year levels. Our Core values (CARE) underpin our approach.
Community
We value every member of our school community and we are committed to working together to reach our shared goals through mutual support, encouragement and celebration of our Catholic faith.
Achievement
We are committed to learning at every level to achieve our personal best.
Respect
We have personal and collective responsibility to each other and to the school’s success.
Excellence
We promote excellence in all we do.
Next week’s parent/teacher meetings:
Monday 7th Feb. Year groups 1,2 and 3 meeting in the hall at 7.00pm then moving to the various classrooms.
Tuesday 8th Feb. Year groups 4,5 and 6 with the same arrangement and time.
Thse meetings provide much information for parents and is one our more important meetings to attend.
Please parents be mindful of all our Covid protocols and information that I sent out last week. It would be helpful if pick-ups and particularly drop offs are brief as teachers find it extremely helpful if classes can be cleared before the bell that signals the beginning of instruction time at 8.45am.
Natalie has also requested that a large pencil case or similar can be purchased for students to transport their ipads to and from school. These are expensive learning support tools and this makes their transport to and fro a lot safer!
Our first social event for the year is our welcome ice-breaker that takes place on our oval on Thursday afternoon from 5.00pm-7.00pm. It’s a BYO picnic and refreshment situation and I look forward to welcome our new and existing families.
Wishing you all a fantastic term
Steve Versteegen - Principal

- Please check your child's garments before washing to check they have their own, this is very common with the junior primary to mix garments up.
- Please take the opportunity to purchase labels to adhere to the garments, this makes it very easy to return the garment to the correct family.
