All the important deets to stay in the know!

May It Be of Benefit

Hello Families, and Happy St. Patty's!

"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness." Bishop Desmond Tutu

It has been just about one entire year since we first hunkered down to "shelter in place" following the governor's order in an effort to "flatten the curve" and squelch this pandemic. For the young, a year is an eternity. For those of us with many years behind us, a year passes in a flash.

Obviously, the pandemic is not over, but we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I want to share that the district and our school have some plans in the works to add a bit more normalcy back into our students' lives. We have plans to hold a 4th and 5th-grade softball season (modified, of course, to follow social distancing guidelines and other restrictions still in place by the county health department). As long as Covid numbers continue to decline, we will also move forward with a modified track or cross country season for Kindergarten through 5th and maybe even spring soccer (if our county moves into the right pandemic color zone).

In the meantime, we continue to follow protocols at school such as mask wearing, hand washing, staying in stable groups (cohorts), and physical distancing. Thank you for staying the course. I know we are weary of these restrictions, but we are closing the distance on this school year, and as it comes to an end, please help us to finish strong. Remember to send your child with a clean, well-fitting mask each day, remind them to keep their mask on and to wash their hands well and often, and to keep space between themselves and others whenever possible. Your encouragement to your children makes a difference in their attitude and compliance at school, and we appreciate your partnership in helping us stay open and be able to have a few fun activities like softball and cross country.

With gratitude,

Mrs. Gold
