Message From Nurse Cruz

Dear Parent/Guardian of 6th grade students,

Texas state law TAC 25 Rule §97.63 mandates students entering the 7th grade be completely vaccinated against communicable disease including tetanus and meningitis. The additional Tdap and Meningitis vaccines must be obtained prior to entrance into the 7th grade. Unvaccinated students will NOT receive a schedule and will not be permitted to attend class until evidence of vaccination is provided to the school nurse. These absences are not considered excused absences. Please send a copy of the updated vaccinations to the school nurse.

If you have any questions, regarding the required vaccines, please feel free to contact the campus clinic.

Thank you,

Nurse Cruz.

UIL Celebrations

Choir

On Friday, March 29, the 6th grade Lomax Colt Choir went to the PISD Pre-UIL Benchmark Festival. They performed on the stage and in the sight reading room for judges. All the students performed wonderfully and did an excellent job of showing the district what an amazing tradition of excellence the Lomax fine arts department has! The judges were impressed and had outstanding feedback. We are so proud of our colts and all the time, effort, and hard work that went into their exemplary performance.

Band

Mr. Cassidy and Ms. Magers would like to congratulate the Advanced Band students for their outstanding performance at the Pasadena ISD Middle School Band Benchmark Contest, which was held last Saturday, March 30th. The band’s performance was one of the best performances at the contest that day by any of the bands and the band received excellent comments from the judges. Thank you for all of your hard work and preparation. You have proven that hard work and perseverance pays off.

Lomax Loves Literacy Book Club

This week the Lomax Loves Literacy Book Club had a celebration in honor of finishing the book Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library. Just like in the book, students had to work together to solve clues that lead them around the library in a scavenger hunt. They had a great team celebrating together and talking about the fun, exciting book they had all just finished reading!
