"Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" by BKS Iyengar
Gary Reitze Presents "Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" by BKS Iyengar
"Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" by BKS Iyengar explains the problems and the solutions we encounter on a spiritual path. At this month's book club, Reitze will review what is described as the "bible" of yoga and explain the theories and benefits of practicing yoga.
Patanjali wrote this collection of yoga wisdom over 2,000 years ago. They are amongst the world's most revered and ancient teachings and are the earliest, most holy yoga reference.
The Sutras show the reader how we can transform ourselves through the practice of yoga, gradually developing the mind, body and emotions, so we can become spiritually evolved. The Sutras are also a wonderful introduction to the spiritual philosophy that is the foundation of yoga practice.
Reitze and his wife will also be teaching some postures during the presentation, with a little something for every skill level. Attendees should wear loose casual clothes so they can do some of the yoga postures.
