The Lower Casentino
The stroll in Casentino begins in Talla, a small and ancient village near Castiglion Fibocchi. Talla buildings were founded about 400 years ago and it's the hometown of Guido Monaco. Afterwards, we suggest to go to Castel Focognano. It is said that it was founded by Etruscan, who enjoyed the charming countryside. Leaving the town you can have a look to the ancient Pieve a Socana. This church was founded on an Etruscan Temple and later became a Romanesque Parish church. The next stop is in Ortignano Raggiolo where you can visit the chestnut museum. In the end, you can enjoy a walk in Poppi, the heart of the power of Counts Guidi.
