Newsletter Term 3 Week 1
Patumahoe School 27th of July 2022
Principal's Desk
Kia ora parents, caregivers, and extended whanau
Welcome back to the new term and to Mrs Sheree Edhouse and Ms Rochelle Pamich who both take on regular teaching duties this term. Mrs Edhouse is teaching a small class of new entrants in Room 14 and Ms Pamich is teaching in Room 4. It is cross country term and classrooms are getting daily running practice in. Our school cross country is Friday of week 4.
Well done to those children who I spotted at the Pukekohe library over the term break. Great to see this marvellous local resource being used.
I was a little surprised to hear that both the Patumahoe premier rugby side and u-21 team were pipped in the Counties Manukau Club rugby finals over the break. Commiserations to both teams. We do have a chance to redeem ourselves next Friday as our Patumahoe School boys and girls rugby team's compete in the Franklin Zone Rugby tournament. What is even more exciting is that Patumahoe domain is the host venue this year which is a change from Waiuku. Following this will be the eagerly anticipated Caretakers Cup rugby clash against Pukekohe Hill School on Thursday the 18th of August. As we are current holders we take on hosting responsibilities.
We do have a few important upcoming dates you need to be aware of, namely parent interviews, mid year reports and teacher only day. They are listed in the 'Upcoming events' below.
COVID-19 update
You will already be aware that we have reintroduced indoor mask wearing for students year 4 and above for the first 4 weeks of this term. We also encourage parents to wear masks indoors whilst you are here at school. This is particularly important for school assemblies and the upcoming parent interviews.
Stay warm and stay well
