ALL SAINTS DAY 2013 - This past Friday we celebrated "All Saints Day" on our campus! 1st through 8th Grade students began the day with Holy Communion and a beautiful procession of their saint banners. This service offered beautiful special music including a song by the Middle School choir, accompanied on guitar by Jackson Cox and Katherine Leister, and lovely music in the choir loft provided by our 4th Grade students.

PK3 through Kindergarten students attended chapel at 12:30 PM in St. Stephen's Sanctuary, complete with banners and a special presentation of dressed up "saints" put on by Mrs. Harrington's 2nd Grade class. All students in PK3-K came up front to sing a very special medley of songs for their audience.

We appreciate all of the parents, grandparents, Board members, and special guests who were able to join us for this significant celebration in the life of our school. Click on the Smilebox below for a combination of photos from both services.

Dr. and Mrs. Alan Coleman made a special visit to chapel last week to give a presentation on their recent trip to Kenya. Dr. Coleman is part of a dental ministry, traveling to under served countries, providing critical dental care to people in villages without any services. Most of these remote locations do not have electricity or water, making dentistry very difficult, if not impossible! Mrs. Julie Coleman, our very own 7th Grade history teacher, accompanies her husband on these trips as his dental assistant. Dr. Coleman is a living example of using your gifts to serve God by serving others!

Art & Technology COLLIDE! 6th Grade students produced incredible masterpieces last week after a truly fascinating art assignment was given to them. Students first brought a box to school to create a diorama. Then they used their iPad to take a picture of their created scene. Next, using the app "Visualize" for iPads, students photo-shopped other elements into their diorama photos, enhancing and infusing the photo of their scene with even more creativity. The assignment required each project to contain at least five hand-drawn elements and one digital element to photo shop into their work. The results were FANTASTIC!
