Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages
1. The Articles included a unified army for the States.
2. It was able to build and control an Army.
3. Had the ability to deal with foreign countries on behalf of the States.

Disadvantages
1. The government could not enforce the laws.
2. The national government could not tax.
3. They needed 9 out of the 13 states to approve a law before it could be passed.
4. They needed all 13 to amend the law.
5. There was no executive or judicial branch.
6. Because of all this they suffered economically.

Why?
I think that the reason that they designed a weak central government is because they were in such a rush to create a government and they did not think the certain ends through so therefore it was not planned the right way so the government was very weak.
