* We may have to have students login to a district computer one time to make this work, but we can easily arrange to make that happen! *
Makerspace Materials
The Makerspace movement began with the belief that students learn best by doing, trying, playing, and inventing. The library is the perfect location for a Makerspace in a school and I have had tremendous success in the past with younger learners. I am excited to have the opportunity to bring those same experiences to an older crowd.
Here are the great tools we now have (or will soon have) in the library. I'll be sharing these with my Mega Lunch groups and they are also available to you! I welcome classes to come down and use the materials with guided instruction or as a time to experiment and try. Science teachers, there is a great deal here that will be perfect for your curriculum!

National Day on Writing

North Texas Teen Book Festival
This is an incredible event that brings many well-known middle grade and YA authors to meet their readers! Kids can get autographs and hear from their favorite writers. It's a life-changing event. Last year, 8,000 readers came to see 75 authors. More than 20 school districts participated in the event. I will be promoting this a lot this year to get as many readers there as I can!
But teachers, there's fun for you too! Educator Day is March 3rd where a panel of authors will be there with so much to share. I attended last year and it was really amazing. So inspiring.
