Facial Expression:
Facial Expressions are use to communicate in most means as a way to convey emotion or mood. They help clarify the way we feel as we face another person. It helps bring tone into a non-verbal confrontation.
Seven Basic Facial Expressions
There are seven basic Facial expression:
- Joy
- Contempt
- Surprise
- Sadness
- Anger
- Disgust
- Fear
Joy
Features:
- crows feet
- pushed up cheeks
- movement of the muscles that surround the eye
Surprise
Features:
- raised eyebrows
- eyes widen
- mouth open
Contempt
Features:
- corner of lip tightened and raised on one side of the face
Sadness
Features:
- Drooping eyelids
- focus loss in eyes
- slight down pull on corners of mouth
Fear
Features:
- eyebrows raised and pulled together
- raised upper eyelids
- tensed lower eyelids
- lips stretched
Disgust
Features:
- Wrinkled up nose
- Raised upper lip
