The Weekly Highlander
Volume #8
A Message from the Principal
Dear Highlander Families:
It is hard to believe that today is the last day of September, where has the time gone? We have a busy October ahead of us here at Hewes. On Wednesday, October 19th, we will be holding our school-wide community event for our students, THE COLOR RUN. This is a celebration of the hard work of the Fall Fundraiser, all students will get a T-Shirt from our sponsors and all you need to do is complete the Participation Waiver and join us on the afternoon of October 19th. If you have not yet supported Hewes PTA this year, please go to the Hewes PTA website at hewespta.org for more information on how to donate and volunteer. Thank you for all you do to make our school such an amazing place for our students!

New Teacher SPOTLIGHT
Meet our new Hewes staff member: Mrs.Bees
Meet Mrs.Bees, she is one of the SAI Special Education teachers at Hewes and teaches Directed Studies. She was in Irvine Unified last year working with students at University High School. We are so happy to have Mrs.Bees on our campus and to share her love of Star Wars with students and staff!
FUN FACT: Mrs.Bees was homeschooled for her middle school years so Hewes is the only Middle School she has ever gone to!
