Newtons Laws
By Zoe Barron
Newtons 1st Law
"An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force."
Which means if a soccer ball sits in your living room while no ones home it isn't just going to roam around your house, but when you get home and the force of your brother kicks it straight into the TV the object will crush your brand new flat screen.
Newtons 2nd law
"The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object."
So if a girl is lifting a hover board that weighs 10 pounds into her car at an acceleration of 10 m/s has a force of 100 because 10X10 is 100.
Newtons 3rd law
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
For example a cat jumps off a roof onto a trampoline when he hits it the springs on the trampoline propel him upward into a tree. Someone call the fire department.
