GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
GENERAL INFORMATION
This week is our kindness week. Students are excited to be involved in creating a positive personal and school environment. They will be learning about personal and social wellness in advisory and will be involved in many activities throughout the week to provide students ways of demonstrating positivity throughout the school.
As a continuation of our kindness and wellness week, the school has also invited The James Mason Center to come out to the school at 7:30pm on Monday, February 25th to talk with parents and students about student wellness, coping strategies, dealing with anxiety and depression, and creating balance in student's lives. We invite any parents and students to come and talk with professionals from their organization about these areas.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE
The 2nd semester parent teacher conference is scheduled for Wednesday, February 27th from 3:30-7:30pm and Thursday, February 28th from 2-5pm. Teachers will be set up in the commons and gym. There is no appointment needed. There will be no school for students on Friday March 1st.
SPRING MUSICAL
We are excited to announce Providence Hall high school's spring musical, The Addams Family, performing March 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Come out and enjoy this amazing performance. More information will come regarding showtimes and purchasing tickets.
FOOTBALL INTEREST PARENT MEETING
We appreciate all those who participated in our programs and activities survey. Consequently, we would like to hold a parent meeting for any students who may be interested in participating in football on Feb 21st at 6:00pm in the commons. OPEN ENROLLMENT AND REGISTRATION FOR 2019-2020
We have now opened enrollment for 2019-2020. Current students don't need to re-enroll, however, if you have friends or families interested in attending Providence Hall next year, please have them go to the website www.providencehall.com and click on the enrollment page.
OPEN HOUSE
Thank you to everyone who attended our first open house on February 5th. The high school will be holding another open house for new students and families on Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00pm. Please invite any friends or families who may be interested in attending Providence Hall high school next year.
MASQERADE BALL
The Masquerade Ball, sponsored by the Drama Club, will be held Saturday, February 16th at the high school. Please come with a half-mask, or buy one at the dance. Tickets are $10 before the dance, or $15 at the door. Masks must be removable, no halloween masks, no painted-on masks, and they must be off to enter the dance. Tickets can be purchased during lunch in the student store.
BOYS BASKETBALL AND SPRING SPORTS TRYOUTS
Congratulations to our boys basketball team who went undefeated in region and is currently 4th overall in state! They will be playing for their first round at state against San Juan on February 16th at 1:30pm at Orem high school. We wish them luck as they continue their success at the state tournament.

10th Grade IB Diploma Program Registration
All students and their parent(s) must make an appointment with Ms. McPhail to determine class scheduling prior to March 7th.
If you would like more information regarding this program, please attend Advanced Academics Night on Tuesday, February 19th in the High School Gym at 6:00 pm. Please support our junior class by attend the spaghetti dinner prior to the informational night.

COUNSELORS CORNER
TUITION WAIVER FOR CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT
Salt Lake Community College is offering a $1000 (over 2 semesters) to seniors who will be continuing their education with them. Eligible students need to meet ALL of the following requirements: 1) must have taken two CE classes, 2) earned a 3.0 in all their CE courses, 3) fill out the appropriate paper work by March 1st, and 4) meet with a SLCC academic counselor. For more information please contact your high school counselor.
10TH AND 11TH GRADE CCRPs
Counselors will be doing their 10th and 11th grade College and Career Readiness meetings during the month of February. They will be meeting with these students and their parents to go over their high school 4 year plan and college/career readiness plans.

WINTER SPORTS
Huge win this last Friday by our boys team who beat Juab to secure 1st place in Region 14! They also blew out win against ALA. This is our basketball team's first region championship. Marcus Sherwood also scored his 1000th point. Way to go team!
Our girls team fell to Juab but beat ALA putting them 5th in region.
STATE TOURNAMENT
The boys will be the 1st seed at State playing Feb 16th at 1:30pm at Orem high school.
The girls will be the 5th seed most likely playing Feb 15th at 8:30am at Orem high school.
