FROM THE HEADS OF SIXTH FORM
Dear Parents,
Year 12 had a very successful Parents' Evening on Monday. Feedback was very positive showing that the Year 12 students have had a very productive first few weeks to the year. Monday also saw Miss Lamagna and Mrs Rogers take a group of Psychology students to the Cardinal Clinic in Windsor to see a thought provoking play for World Mental Health day. A more detailed description of this can be found later in the bulletin. Year 13 continue to work on their UCAS applications. They must hand in a hard copy of their Personal Statement to their tutor as early as possible next week. Applications must be completed by 7 November.
Best wishes
Andy Giles
Stephanie Rogers

SIXTH FORM CHARITY WORK WITH FOODSHARE
Kamini Khindria and Ed Axtell accompanied Mrs Rogers to the Food share location in Maidenhead to take all your generous donations to the food bank there. They were very grateful for all the contributions. Our next big collection for them will be just after the half term holidays. The need for Foodshare by local families triples in the run up to Christmas as more people find themselves requiring help.

the Christmas Party on Wednesday 14 December at Magnolia Park, Hugenden Valley and next summer's Prom. We are now collecting subs for these events and the cost is a very reasonable £45. Please can we ask you send in a cheque for £45 to the Sixth Form office. Cheques should be made payable to Claires Court Sixth Form Social Club. Please do not pay online as it will go into the wrong account. Many thanks.

GUEST SPEAKER - Marcus Burnett
Marcus Burnett from Burnett Global Education came to speak to the Sixth Form students about careers and HE opportunities in international Business Management, Hospitality Management, Event Management and Sport Management. Marcus spoke to a full house of students, who learned that such courses can make graduates extremely employable as they gain excellent business knowledge as well as fantastic ‘soft skills’ i.e. communication, organisational and team working skills which many employers now seek.
SPORTS NEWS
Rugby report
Claires Court got back on winning terms this Wednesday with a decisive 33 - 5 win against a strong Forest side. Claires Court's complacency let them down within the first 15 minutes, however tries from Owain Griffiths, Isaac Challis and Todd Muil helped gain momentum for the home side, giving them a healthy 19 - 0 lead going into half-time.
Forest came out for the second half with different tactics and tried to get into the heads of the Claires Court side. Discipline became poor, however, Claires Court kept their focus with strong defence from Centre, Matt Simmons, and with hard yards made from Man of the Match, Isaac Challis. Claires Court came away deserved 33 - 5 winners. Second half tries came from Tom May and Isaac Challis. Claires Court stay top of the league!
Owain Griffiths, Rugby Captain
Hockey Report
Another great game demonstrated by the 1st XI Hockey squad, with a 1-0 win against LVS Ascot. An early goal from Charlotte Webster put us on the right track, whilst Robyn Watkins' work ethic gave the team fantastic structure. Without doubt, Robyn deserved the Man of the Match.
