Hiawatha Elementary
Week of November 29th
Hello Husky Families-
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and enjoyed the time off of school. We are back to remote learning tomorrow morning at 9:00. Please make sure your child has their device charged and is ready for their morning meeting. We will not have any students coming into the building this week for small group instruction. All students will receive all services remotely this week. Student attendance is very important to the success of your child in the remote learning environment. If your child is going to be absent for any reason, please call the school office at 708-795-2327 and report the absence.
We still have a few at home math kits as well as a Logitech Crayon (stylus) waiting to be picked up. You can stop by the office tomorrow from 10-3 to pick this up. Please come to the front door and let us know your child’s name and homeroom and we will bring these supplies to you. We are excited to get these supplies in the students hands and know they will be excited to start exploring with them as well. The Logitech Crayon is an expensive tool that will need to be taken care of very carefully. Mr. Gonzalez and teachers have been going over expectations on how to use this tool appropriately, please make sure you have a conversation with your child as well.
Picture retakes will be held on December 12th. Please click on this link https://secure.infosnap.com/family/gosnap.aspx?event=3301&culture=en to schedule your appointment. Your child must have an appointment to get their picture taken and all students and parents entering the building must wear a mask. This will be the last opportunity for your student to be included in their class photo composite.
Thank you for continuing to do your part to stop the spread of Covid-19 in our community. Please continue to stay cautious over the next few weeks as we are all working to stop the spread of this virus in our community. Please remember to always wear your mask, wash your hands, practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings. Stay safe and healthy Huskies!
