Destination Imagination Informational
Parents, if you are interested in participating in Destination Imagination with your child, please attend a brief informational meeting after school on Thursday, October 11th at 4:30 in the Clark Library. We will go over some basic information about the role students, parents, and sponsors play in DI and provide resources for those who are forming a team (or even just thinking about it). If you have any questions, please reach out to Marshella Maricle at mariclem@friscoisd.org.
Girls Cross Country Informational
Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls who are interested in running cross country:
There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, October 18, either before school or after school. Both meetings will be in Mrs. Jerden’s classroom, Room 409. The morning meeting will start at 7:55am and the afternoon meeting will start at 3:45pm. Any girls interested in running cross country this year must attend one of these meetings.
If you are NOT currently enrolled in girls’ athletics, you will also need to complete the required paperwork before you are allowed to participate. Further information will be given out at the meetings on Thursday. If you have any questions, please see Coach Gribnitz.

Dress Code Changes
The District has recently reviewed two areas of the secondary dress code:
- Dresses, skirts and shorts that extend to or below the students’ fingertips when their arms are held to their sides are acceptable.
- Tights, leggings, jeggings, and other form-fitting pants must be worn with dresses, shirts, skirts, or shorts that extend to or below fingertip length.
It was determined that measuring the length of clothing by the standard of “fingertip length” may not be equitable to students. Therefore, dresses, skirts, shorts, and shirts that sufficiently cover the student (particularly when reaching to get into a locker or picking something up off the floor) to meet a standard of modesty where the focus can still be on instruction will be permitted.

Gift Cards for Teachers!
Throughout the year, we like to reward our awesome teachers for all they do for our students. When teachers attend students' extra-curricular events or go the extra mile by helping a colleague, we enter their name into a drawing for gifts. Please help to make this possible by donating a $10 gift card or a gift certificate to our teachers and leave it with our receptionist in the front office; it can be to any place in town. Feel free to place your name on the back of the card so the teachers know which parents they have to thank for this kind donation. If you cannot donate at this time, you may donate a gift card at any time throughout the year. Anything you can donate will be used for the staff throughout the year. Please know that teachers are always thoroughly surprised and appreciative of your kindness toward them. Thank you in advance for helping us recognize our amazing teachers!Clark Volunteer Core
They work in the shadows. Sometimes also in very public places. Men and women. United by one goal: to see their offspring THRIVE in middle school.
ARE THEY AFRAID? A little bit. Do they know everything? Not YET. BUT THAT DOES NOT STOP THEM from doing what needs doing. Together. For the good of students.
