Week Seven The New Normal
St. Jude Weekly Update for May 8, 2020
Comments from Mrs. Hibler
Seeing everyone on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as you picked up your student's belongings was bittersweet! It brought us so much joy to see you and the kids again. Thank you to all the teachers who came to wave and say hello. Thank you to the administrative team for organizing the pick-up, and a huge shout out to the maintenance staff for preparing the area where the boxes were stored. Now, I find myself confronted with the reality that this is really how the school year is going to end. As we prepare for these final weeks of distance learning, the teachers are planning fun online activities to do with their classes. Details will follow in the weeks to come. Now is the time to be sure your child is all caught up on their work. The end of distance learning is coming quickly!
Godspeed,
Mrs. Hibler
Power of the Pen Regional Tournament
Five St. Jude students scored high enough to continue to the Power of the Pen Regional Tournament. The organizers have developed an online competition, which will be held on Saturday, May 9th. The following students are very excited and eager to participate, good luck on Saturday:
Elizabeth George, Julia Serdinak, Kayley Hoge, Aubrey Scholle, and Lizzie DeChant.

Calling all 8th Grade Parents
The slideshow for the 8th grade is a tradition at St. Jude. I am asking for 3-5 pictures of each 8th grade student. The pictures can be current or from younger years. They can be a group or individual photos. I will create the slideshow with music to share, digitally with the 8th graders. Every year, the 8th grade students love to see pictures of themselves and friends, as they have grown throughout their years at St. Jude. I would like to have all the pictures emailed to me by Friday, May 15. I thought that this could be a surprise for the kids, but I realize that the kids are aware that this is done every year, and they probably have some pictures that they would like to be included. Please feel free to email me with any questions or ideas :)
