I grew up in Boca Raton, FL and spent my
free time as a child playing soccer and
volleyball in addition to completing science
fair projects and amateur social
experiments. I began college at the age of 16 in South Florida and
studied Biology there for two years before moving
my studies to Boston University, where I completed
an additional three years studying and doing research
in biology and early childhood education. After
completing my time in Boston, I moved to Raleigh to
be closer to my family and began studying
Elementary Education through UNCW’s online
program. My mother was born in Rye,
NY to two Danish immigrants and my father
was adopted and brought to America
From Colón, Panama when he was 9 by my grandparents, who
were members of the Peace Corps at the
time. The life experiences of my family
have been enriching to my development
and I hope to pass on the respect for and
appreciation of other cultures to my
students.
