Mrs. Reeg's Math Class News

Week of April 25, 2016

This Week In Math:

This past week we finished our unit on geometry. Next week we will discuss the metric system. Students will be converting like measurement units within a given measurement system. Below I have included some videos on metric conversions.

White T-shirt Needed!

On May 18th our 5th graders will be visiting the Cleveland Museum of Art. Mrs. Spetrino would like to tie dye shirts with your child to wear on the trip. Please send in a white t-shirt that has been WASHED. Write your son/daughter's name on the tag with a black sharpie. The colors will last a lot longer if you wash the shirt before you send it in. T-shirts need to be at school by May 2nd as we will be preparing them in class.

Art Museum Field Trip

Our field trip to the Art Museum will take place on Wednesday, May 18th. We will be leaving school at 9:10 am and return around 2:20 pm. Students need to pack a brown bag lunch and wear comfortable shoes. Students will also be wearing their tie dye shirts that day. They will receive their shirt on the morning of the field trip to change into.

Buy One, Get One Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school May 16-18th during school hours and on Monday, May 16 in the evening from 5-7pm. This will be a Buy One Get One FREE Fair and will be a great opportunity to stock up for summer reading. Volunteers are also needed to help with running the Book Fair. Please return the Book Fair form by May 4th if you are able to volunteer. Mrs. Reeg's homeroom will be shopping on Monday, May 16th.

Summer Camps

Mentor Schools has expanded its summer camp offerings this year! In addition to Lego Robotics/iMovie and 3-D Design Camps, we are now offering a Coding Camp and App Smashing Camp. The camps are designed to be both educational and engaging. All are taught by Mentor teachers. Students may receive informational flyers from their teachers or be sure to check out last week's Beacon.
