BreakoutEDU-The DIY Edition
BreakoutEDU games teach critical thinking, teamwork, complex problem solving, and can be used in all content areas. The concept is based on the idea of "Breakout Rooms;" but rather than breaking out of rooms, students are breaking into boxes through the completion of rigorous tasks. BreakoutEDU games will revive your students' interests in using their brains as they develop important skills for success in the 21st century.

The Science Behind the Wolf: A Three Little Pigs Experiment
VIDEO: The Science Behind the Wolf: A Three Little Pigs Experiment
In this lesson, the teacher reads the Three Little Pigs as an activator. The class talks about how the wolf huffs, puffs and blows down the houses. This activator leads into a discussion of the respiratory system where students take notes in their interactive notebooks. After taking notes, the student teams create a working model of one of the 3 little pig's respiratory system. This video clip highlights the building of the model lung. #chunkinginstruction #handsonlearning #limitedlecture #differentlearningstyles #rigor #covingtonstreetscience #leighcarter
