DFES Academic Goals 2015 - 2016


  • By the conclusion of the 2015-2016 school year 65% of 2nd - 5th graders will have met or exceeded their spring MAP reading growth goal.

  • By the conclusion of the 2015-2016 school year homeroom teachers will have received a minimum of 10 hours of environmental sciences professional development to build teacher capacity and to support magnet theme integration.

D5 Teacher Forum

Monday, Feb. 15th, 8:30-11:30am

The mission of D5 Teacher Forum is to Advocate, Advance, and Inspire. The goal for this day is to promote, instill, share, and develop the super powers mentioned above.


Parking will be limited, so it is highly recommended that folks meet here at DFES and carpool. The sessions will also begin promptly at 8:30. If you run late you risk taking "the walk of shame" (not my words...a quote from Dr. Melton) in front of hundreds due to limited seating.


From 1:00-3:00 is unencumbered time to work in your classrooms. Specialized PD for support staff is forthcoming.

All remaining certified staff will meet in the media center. We will explore Read to Succeed Legislation. A Read to Succeed document will be placed in your boxes Monday that will help facilitate our discussions Tuesday.
