Senior Spotlight: Kade Manning
This month's Senior Spotlight is Kade Manning. Kade has attended CCA since preschool. The thing he has liked most about attending CCA, is his classmates. Kade’s parents are Kara and JD Manning. Kade also has two younger siblings, Colten and Brynn; two dogs, Ollie and Drago; two horses, Dusty and Dixie; a miniature donkey, Mirabelle; two goats, Baby and Cinnabun; and lots of cats: Layla, Tux, Thea,
and Marble.
Kade’s future plans after high school is to go to MU and study something in the medical field. His favorite CCA memory is from his Junior year, when he and his class made their Junior chapel. Kade’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 20:28. The teacher that had the most impact on Kade is Mrs. Lewis, as she taught him how to count. Kade plays basketball, and soccer, and in his free time he enjoys baking, playing video games, and reading. Kade is such a joy to be around, and he is always willing to
lend a helping hand!
Survey Says:
This week, we surveyed students to find out which they liked better, Cosmic Brownies, or Oatmeal Cream Pies? It was a tough vote for many, but the winner was Cosmic Brownies, with a vote of 73. Oatmeal Cream Pies rounded the corner with a total vote of 56. Did you know, that Oatmeal Cream Pies were the first Little Debbie snack cakes that were commercially produced? -Audrey F.
January Character Trait: Kindness
What is kindness? These three CCA students sum it up in their own words. "Kindness is being considerate and noticing when you need to help someone or say something," Clara (11th) responded. Nora (4th) answered, "It means giving someone something you know they want without them asking or being nice." Lastly, Gauge (8th) replied, "Kindness to me is being nice to others and being welcoming to them." -Vivian

Chapel
On Friday, 11th grade opened chapel with "The church clap!" Pledges were said to the American flag, Christian flag and Bible. A prayer was said. James McFarland from Golden Valley Christian Church, Clinton spoke to us. He said that the Bible can be summed up in one word: reconciliation. Jesus came as a baby to earth, so that He could eventually die on the cross, so that we could be reconciled.
Pastor McFarland had us all attempt to drop a penny perfectly onto a paper with a bullseye in the center of it 10 times. It was impossible to hit the bullseye every time. It's the same when you try following a law perfectly; you can't, but Jesus lived a perfect life. He also explained how Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We cannot bear fruit without Jesus. The power and spirit of God lives inside us and helps us grow and bear His fruit. We bear fruit so that we can share it with others and be an example for Jesus. -Vivian

In the fourth quarter, CCA couldn't get any baskets to fall. The girls fell short 12-19.
The Junior High Boys got their 200th win on Friday night! After all tournament games were completed for the evening, an alumni game was played with many former & current CCA boy basketball players. A video of this game can be seen on our CCA Facebook page. Congratulations to our JH Boys for winning the tournament!
