Fourth Grade's Weekly Update

It was a wonderful week at Alcova! We had the opportunity to share progress with so many parents, and we appreciate your support. Don't forget about the election coming in November. The last day to register to vote is October 5th to be eligible for the November vote. Absentee and early voting begins on October 12th. If you would like more information on the ESPLOST vote visit either the Alcova Elementary website or the Gwinnett County Public Schools main website page.

We have some very special events coming up over the next month. Check our calendar and plan to take part in our wonderful activities at Alcova. It is a pleasure to be part of such a wonderful community.

Volunteers Needed!

Calling all volunteers… I am in need of 2 -4 volunteers to assist with 3rd Grade Vision and Hearing testing. The testing will take place on Monday, October 5th. Volunteers will be needed to get the classes and walk them to the screening site. You will stay with the class and monitor them while they wait. Please contact Libby Ballew (Parent Instructional Coordinator) if you would like to volunteer.

Math - We will continue to work on 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. Do you know your basic math facts?

Language Arts - We will continue to talk about Greek Mythology. We will also be discussing Context Clues and Themes.

Science - We will continue talking about weather.

Social Studies - We will continue talking about the European Explorers.
