Thursday 8th March
Toko School Tryathlon
Next Friday the 16th of March we will be having our annual school tryathlon. Once again we will be utilising Wawiri road for the cycle leg. The event will now be viewed, by parents, from the bank on the far end of the field parallel to Wawiri Road. The event starts at the Wawiri Road, all children will assemble on the bottom field and will finishe at the cricket pitch. Please make sure that your bike or scooter is fully prepared for this event, checking that it is well serviced and that the brakes are in good working order. Bikes will need to be dropped at school on the bottom field, Ahuroa Road Entrance, on Friday morning. Gates will be open to assist you with this. All bikes need to be collected after school. If this is a problem please contact your child's classroom teacher. Children will need closed in shoes, a good working helmet and their swimming gear for this event.
For children new to our school we have a very small course set up for our 5 year olds. It’s all about having a go. They can bring a bike or a scooter. If you have any further questions please talk to Mrs Bright.
If your child does not have a bike to bring to school please contact your child's classroom teacher asap so we can make alternative arrangements.
The event order is as follows: Year 7 - 8, Year 5 - 6, Year 0 - 2, Year 3 - 4.
We run our event in the following order: Cycle, run, swim, run to the finish line.
The Tryathlon kicks off at 1.00pm sharp.
TEACHER ONLY DAY
Don’t forget everyone Friday 9th March is a Teacher Only Day so school will not be open for instruction.
TOKO SCHOOL & DISTRICTS 125TH JUBILEE:
INTERVIEWING PAST PUPILS
If children at our school have parents, grandparents or great grandparents that went to Toko School we would love them to take some time to interview them about their time at Toko School. This could be audio recorded, video recorded, or notes could be taken down and then the students could present this in any way they choose. If you could discuss this with your child and assist them to carry out this task that would be greatly appreciated.
