Parent Conferences Update
We have been enjoying making one on one connections with you everyday. You may know that our goal is to have continuous positive contacts with all Washington families. The district has set Thursday Dec. 3rd from 2pm-6pm and Friday Dec. 4th from 8am-12pm as the time for our family conferences. Information about how to sign up for a google meet with your learner's teachers is explained in this Family Letter.

Virtual Freshman Orientation at Lincoln
Orientation for our current 8th graders... Soon to be Freshman- will be taking place virtually on Wednesday, December 9th via google meet.
We wanted to give you a heads up that in the next week or so current 8th-grade students will be added to a Google Classroom called "The Shipyard" where the Google Meet links and additional information about orientation will be shared. This will also be their "homeroom" when they join us here at Lincoln High School.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
In the full distance learning model, teachers will take all attendance . We are asking families to please still call the main office at 920.663.9570 to report the absence. This means if your student is not able to attend their Google Meets for any reason. Thank you for your support and help.

Library Update
The library staff strives to connect readers and books. We are working behind the scenes to purchase eBooks, borrow books from other libraries, and pull books for our students. We are also working on several library projects that will help students find just the right book. Bitmoji library classrooms will be released linking students to books that are new, and popular.
Graphic novels continue to be the most requested books at Washington Middle School. New graphic novels are being written that tackle current issues of diversity, special needs, and social-emotional issues. Readers are not only reading the written word, but also the visual narrative as well.
Graphic nonfiction is also popular. We have a wide variety of biographies, famous battles, and other nonfiction subject areas in graphic format. These engaging books provide us with informational text, but also the support of visuals to aid our learning.
Please encourage your child to reserve books from the library, public library, and browse our collections of eBooks as well.
Remember, it takes a community to build a reader.
