Roads
Dear parents,
Who knew making roads could be such fun! Our children have been learning this week ‘how are roads made?’ and ‘who builds and repairs roads?’ This little construction crew explored with hands-on activities different materials to make their own roads. We have learned how the steamroller is used to smooth roads and about road worker safety (hard hats, reflective vests, traffic cones, and heavy boots). After understanding how roads are made, we discussed how roads are maintained. The word maintenance was introduced as ‘repairing or fixing things to prevent them from getting worse’. It is important to repair cracks and potholes to keep roads smooth and to prevent cracks and potholes from spreading.
Have a lovely weekend,
PK3 Team
