The U.S. Weather Bureau in Miami described Hurricane Miami as probably the most destructive hurricane ever to strike the United States. It hit Florida in Fort Lauderdale, Dania, Hollywood, Hallandale and Miami, and moved north-west through Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Bahamas.
