Course Information
ELA
As we continue Unit 1 of ELA, we will be finishing up our author study of Japanese-American author and artist, Allen Say. We are reading 3 of his books and learning about the historical fiction genre. Be sure to locate these books in your ELA materials and bring them to ELA class with you!
We will also begin to learn about narrative writing and will write our own personal story about a meaningful experience in your life, which will be your first quarter writing TGA. We will be learning about the components of narrative writing and will work to develop our writing skills.
Math
In Unit 1 of Math, we will be working on number sense, comparing & ordering numbers, as well as rounding numbers. Our focus will be on understanding the value of numbers and being able to read, write, and understand numbers in different forms. Be sure that your student is completing the Activity Book pages with every lesson to get the practice to master the skills.
