Thank you to the High School Wrestlers for visiting the elementary and speaking about RESPONSIBILITY.
This week the students got to enjoy a performance by the Safety kids. (Sponsored by the Council for Drug Free Youth.)
Spirit Days - Homecoming Week: Oct. 7-11
Destination: Road Trip
Tuesday: Hot Stop in Hawaii --> Dress Hawaiian
Wednesday: Travel to Texas --> Western Wear
Thursday: Disney Dream Vacation --> Dress as your favorite Disney character
Friday: Back home to Blair Oaks --> Wear your GREEN!
The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, October 11. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend!
*Note: If students leave school with parents after the Homecoming Parade, they will need to be signed out.
McTeacher Night - Oct. 8th
A percentage of the proceeds collected between 4:00-8:00 pm will be returned to the school. (This includes drive-through and dine-in.)

Fundraiser Pick-up
Parent Teacher Conferences -- Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 1:30pm to 7:00pm
The conference will include time to discuss your student's strengths and challenges as well as highlight growth and develop goals. Research has shown that parental involvement increases student's success. We know that your support is so vital to that success. If at all possible, we ask that both parents schedule their parent teacher conference during the same time slot as there are limited amount of spaces available.
4th Grade will be scheduled separately; watch for an e-mail from teachers.
Instructions for signing up:
- Find your student's teacher and the time frame you desire. PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE UNDER THE CORRECT TEACHER'S NAME.
- Click the "sign-up" box to the right of the time.
- Click "submit and sign-up" box at the bottom of screen.
- Option: Choose "I'm a SignUpGenius member", then log-in.
- Option: Choose "I do not have a SignUpGenius account." Then, complete the information requested.
- You do not have to set-up a Sign-Up Genius account if you do not wish to do so. If you chose "Send me e-mail confirmation with iCalendar", you do not have to set up an account.
- Sign-Up Genius will send a reminder two days before Parent-Teacher Conferences.

New E-Wallet Payment Option
Tailgate Night hosted by Elementary Falcon Flyers
Who: Children grades K-4
When: Friday, October 25th from 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Where: Blair Oaks Elementary
Cost: $7 per child (food, drinks, and fun activities will be provided)
RSVP and submit payment by October 11, 2019 to ensure we have enough supplies for everyone, walk-ins at the time of the event will not be permitted. Please complete the RSVP form below and return it to the office with payment. Only the first 90 participants will be accepted.
SPOTS WILL NOT BE RESERVED UNTIL FORM AND PAYMENT ARE TURNED IN.

Open library is from 6:00 to 7:00 on the following Tuesdays:

During Open library night students have an opportunity to take AR quizzes and read books in a quiet atmosphere. It is a great time for students to catch up on AR goals or if they need to read a book and take their quiz right away.
Please note: Students are not able to take A Math tests at this time.

Quarterly Service Project
This quarter's service project will benefit HALO of Jefferson City.
For homeless children in Jefferson City, HALO represents far more than food or shelter. HALO will place a welcome basket in each room for new residents, comprising of snacks and food, ensuring no one goes to bed hungry on their first night.
Below is a list of items that work well in the welcome basket:
- pudding cups
- cheez-its or single serve bags of snacks
- microwaveable mac and cheese
- bottled water
- bottled juice
- granola bars
- microwaveaable soups
- pop tarts
- crackers and cheese
- microwave popcorn
- cookies
- boxed milk
- single serve cereal boxes
Any and all items donated will be delivered to Halo after our first quarter has ended.
