Meadow Park News

Principal's Corner
It's been another busy, productive week at The Park! Our teachers are preparing for conferences next week and are looking forward to meeting with you to talk about how your child is doing. If you haven't had a chance to sign up, we will be closing the online form on Monday so this is your last weekend to take care of things without calling the office. My apologies to those Summa and Dual Language families who were unable to register for a spot. Unfortunately, we have more students than spaces available in each of those programs. If you send me an email to let me know you were unable to secure a spot, I will be happy to make sure you have first priority for our spring conferences.
We are still hoping to collect more Jog-a-thon pledges to reach our $21,000 goal! I'm sure we can get there and have students talking with me on a regular basis about the TikTok our admin team will be doing. Hopefully we can include some of their ideas--but first we have to make the goal. See below for details on collecting pledges!
2019-2020 Meadow Park spirit wear is on sale now. The T-shirts will be identical to the ones seen in our staff picture below. Hoodies will be a little different and can be seen on the order form below. We don't sell these to make a profit (and some years take a loss), but the more students order, the more likely we are to at least break even. We love seeing our students wearing their Meadow Park gear! Orders are due October 21st.
Make it a great week!

Park Guides will be morning greeters!
We have been speaking with our PARK Guides in hopes of having them sign up for one day per week to be a morning greeter to fellow students as they enter the building. During lunch on Thursday, we asked guides to try and sign up for a day they can commit to for the year. Please connect with your child to see what they signed up for or determine a time that works best for you and your family. If a student is unable to be dropped off or unable to walk to school on that day, they can begin as soon as their bus arrives.
Expectations include:
•Wearing their PARK Guide shirt for the morning greeting time. They do not have to wear it the entire day if they do not wish.
•Holding the door open for students and greeting them with a simple "hello" or "good morning" and a smile.
•Do their best to be at their chosen spot from 8:55 - 9:10 on they day the signed up for.
We are excited to have students join us in creating a warm community of kindness here at Meadow Park. Your support and your child's leadership is greatly appreciated.
Chromebook Damage/Loss Fees
The Beaverton School District is fortunate to be able to provide Chromebooks to all secondary students. At the beginning of each school year, each student is automatically enrolled in the District's Chromebook Damage / Loss Program and charged a $20 fee. Students who are eligible for free and reduced meals will have the fee waived and removed from their account. In order to be covered by the Chromebook Damage / Loss Program, the $20 fee must have been paid or waived.
On October 18, 2019, any Chromebook Damage / Loss fees that haven't been paid will be removed from student accounts. Students who have checked out a Chromebook but have not paid the Damage / Loss fee or have had the fee waived will not be covered by the program. Students not covered by the program will be fully responsible for any damage or loss of their assigned Chromebook.
