STEM Academy
Students in our Medical Investigations class were treated to a guest speaker, Jennifer Hayne, a representative from a large gene therapy company. She was able to explain the science and business behind gene therapy. The session was informative and gave students an opportunity to learn much more about concepts being studied in class.
If you have holiday gifts in need of wrapping, please stop by the student parking lot near the theater and have them wrapped by our BioMedical students from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 16. All funds will go directly to support our students.

Athletics News
Boys Basketball: The boys won their first game in the Balboa Tournament against Oakland Military Institute in San Francisco, 71-59 to improve to 7-3 in this season. Good luck on winning this tournament!
Boys Soccer: The Press Enterprise named two of our Panthers, Francisco Gomez, Sr. and Angel Soto, Jr. as Players to Watch. Francisco is "the player who is scoring goals and has all the coaches talking," while Angel is a returning All-Big VIII League selection and was one of league’s best playmakers last season.
Boys Golf: Tryouts will be held in January. Please have your student see Coach Maffucci in S-103 to find out place and time. Remember that students must have an athletic clearance packet on file prior to trying out for any sport. They may see Mrs. Mecicucci in the Athletics Office located in the gym foyer.
Football: If your student is interested in playing football next year, please have him/her join Coach Gueringer in the Library on Monday December 18th during both lunches for some important information.
