Classroom News!
Last Friday, Kindergarten celebrated the 100th day of school with great excitement and enthusiasm! The children practiced counting by 10's to hundred by counting 10 pieces of 10 separate snack foods which they collected in their individual baggies before gobbling up. With our collections of 100 things we had a One Hundredth Day of School exhibit. The children inspected the collection and thought about which collection of 100 things was the biggest, smallest, heaviest, lightest, most colorful, most interesting ... etc.
Big news from the world of Kindergarten authors! We learned that writers have people who help them make their stories the best they can be (aka editors). The children are learning how to be good listeners and how to make constructive comments about their friends stories. Best of all -- we get to have meetings with our editors! Kindergarteners love meetings!
As part of our study of fairy tales, the children cut out shapes to make castles. Their scissors were snipping and paper was flying around as the children assembled their shapes into these magical one dimensional structures. Next week -- it's all about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Stay tuned!

Poem of the Week
Mail Myself To You
I'm gonna wrap myself in paper
I'm gonna dab myself in glue,
Stick some stamps on tops of my head,
I'm gonna mail myself to you.
I'm gonna tie me up in red string,
I'm gonna tie blues ribbons too,
I'm gonna climb up in my mail box,
I'm gonna nail myself to you.
