What a tee-rific day we had for the Crusader Cup Golf Tournament! We are so appreciative of our sponsors, the players, and our amazing volunteers! Many thanks especially to our coordinator, Dawn Carroll for her endless support, creativity, and go-getter attitude. What a fabulous, faith filled day we had last Friday as we grew seeds of faith, wisdom, and love at our annual FAITH RALLY! We had many guests including Fr. Woods, Fr. Ryan, Fr. David, Deacon Ryan, and Sisters from the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará of Upper Marlboro - Sister Mary the Redeemer, Sister Clare, Sister Gabby, Sister Sofia, and Sister Camila. Students were able to spend time and visit the religious, make crafts, complete a Faith scavenger hunt, play a Know your Faith Kahoot game, and many more fun activities. They also took time for Adoration in church. Thank you for sending in nonperishable items for the St. Aloysius Food Pantry. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Cacko and Ms. Verbos for planning such a wonderful day!

Our Butter Braid Fundraiser is back by popular demand! Experience the Ultimate WOW while at the same time helping support FAW! This fundraiser is easy to sell, definitely easy to eat, and has a great profitability per item sold. Our goal is that we would love to see each family sell at least 6 Butter Braids. 2022-2023 ADW Tuition Assistance Program: Applications for next year’s Archdiocesan Tuition Assistance Program are now available. The deadline date for returning families to apply is Friday, December 3rd. Families may apply online by logging onto https://adwcatholicschools.org/tuition-assistance/.

On the top toolbar, hover over “TUITION ASSISTANCE” and then click on the “ARCHDIOCESAN TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM” link at the top of the menu. Any families who think they will need tuition assistance for the 2022-2023 school year MUST APPLY THROUGH THIS ADW PROGRAM FIRST, before asking for aid from FAW.

This year the Archdiocese of Washington is requiring ALL volunteers to get their fingerprints taken in order to be in compliance. If you would like to volunteer (or otherwise work with our students such as chaperoning a field trip), you must take this step. Please note: Many of you have completed the expected requirements for years prior, but THIS YEAR, you must also have your fingerprints taken so you can be cleared to volunteer. This fingerprinting is completed locally and must follow the ADW process. (Even if you have gotten your fingerprints taken for a security clearance at your workplace, this is different. The ADW receives a copy of this special report. All Archdiocesan Catholic Schools, such as FAW, must follow the new ADW guidelines for our school volunteers.) If you are unsure of your status, please contact Mrs. Bowles at office@fatherandrewwhite.org so she can check to see if you have fingerprint information on file. The Father Andrew White National Junior Honor Society is asking for your support. We are selling Halloween Candy Grams for $1 each. Feel free to copy as many as you need! Please fill out the Candy Grams and return them and the money to school by MONDAY, October 25th. (This is a new deadline to ensure we will have enough candy!!) Our HSA is selling the White House Christmas Ornament again this year. The ornaments are $24.95 each, or for orders of 12 or more, $22.95. Please see the flyer for more information. Tuesday, October 26th has been reserved as the Knight for a Day date for our 8th graders who wish to visit St. Mary's Ryken High School. SMR mini bus transportation is available for the students that day. Parents can sign their 8th graders up at https://www.smrhs.org/admissions/visit/spend-a-day-as-a-knight. Please note: registration needs to be completed at least one week prior.

SCRIP Gift Card Fundraiser: Got a craving for pizza? There's a Domino's in town now and we carry SCRIP cards in stock! We have increments of $10 and $25. We also carry SCRIP cards for Papa John's.

It's almost time for our Book Fair and we are excited that the Book Fair will be set up in our library again this year. The Book Fair will be held from October 27th - November 5th. We are looking for volunteers to help each day between the hours of 9:15 and noon AND during our big Trunk or Treat event. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours and to be able to see the great selection of Scholastic books that will be available to our students and families.
