Hawk Highlights
January 8, 2021
Dear Families of the Hollys,
Welcome to 2021! We hope this message finds you healthy and rested following Winter Break. We have missed you immensely, and we eagerly await students' return to in-person learning on Monday, January 11, 2021. We will maintain all social distancing protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of students and staff at all times. We also appreciate your support in these expectations when you are on campus for arrival and dismissal. It will be such a joy to hear voices and laughter in our hallways again! In the next few days, you will receive communication from your child’s teacher regarding learning materials students should return to their classroom to assist in the transition back to in-person learning.
As we embark on returning to in-person learning, we take notice of events that are currently stirring in our nation. We strive to provide a safe haven in which our students can be fully human socially, emotionally and academically. It is our hope that we continue to provide a sense of safety and security for our students. Please do not hesitate to reach out should your student or family need support. We are here to serve and provide for the Hollys' community every single day. Your partnership is so important to us, and for the success of our children.
January is Board of Education Recognition Month. We would like to express gratitude for the dedication of our school board and their steadfast leadership demonstrated during this very unique year. We are so appreciative of our Cherry Creek School District Board of Education members: Anne Egan (Director, District A), Janice McDonald (Secretary and Director, District B), Angela Garland (Director, District C), Kelly Bates (Vice President and Director, District D), and Karen Fisher (President and Director, District E), for their dedication and hard work. We thank them for their unwavering effort, through a multitude of challenges, to uphold our district commitment to inclusive excellence for every single student.
All staff at the Hollys wishes each of our families a very happy New Year. We are very hopeful that 2021 offers us both prosperity and joy! We thank you for your partnership that positively contributes to our healthy and welcoming school culture and climate. It is such an honor to be part of such an amazing community.

School of Choice
The Cherry Creek School District gives its district residents the opportunity to apply for enrollment in the Cherry Creek school/program of their choice. Families may request that their child attend a Cherry Creek school outside the assigned attendance area. The School of Choice application is available online during the month of January. Late applications will not be accepted.
There are NO PAPER FORMS available for the School of Choice application process.
Applications are considered based on lottery and space availability. Priority is given to students with siblings currently attending the requested school and approved to return the following year. Priority is also given to children of district employees. There is a limit of one (1) application per student and all information is verified for accuracy. Addresses must be up to date in order to be considered for School of Choice.
Parents are notified of the results by March 15th. Appeals may be submitted in writing to District Admissions by April 15th. The Appeals Committee will review all letters received, and parents will be notified of the decision by May 15th.
