Summer School Options - A Message from CUSD
Dear Chandler Unified School District Parents and Guardians,
Our commitment to student health and safety is a priority. Due to our continued focus upon student wellness, the Chandler Unified School District will not be offering brick and mortar Summer School options this summer. However, we are pleased to announce that the Chandler Unified School District will offer tuition-free, virtual academic opportunities for our K-12 students during the summer months.
Elementary and Junior High “Summer Enrichment” (Grades K-8)
Beginning June 1st, each student in grades K-8 will have access to MobyMax through their Clever account. MobyMax is a digital resource which is aligned to Arizona state standards and was designed to identify learning gaps. Students are encouraged to utilize MobyMax for enrichment opportunities in reading and math. MobyMax will continue to be offered throughout the 2020-2021 school year for student use.
Junior High Students “Remediation/Acceleration” (Grades 7-8)
Junior high students will utilize Chandler Online Academy as the online summer school platform. Courses offered in this platform are provided to students who have been identified by their brick and mortar counselor as needing remediation, or have been recommended for a summer math bridge course designed for students entering an accelerated 7th grade honors math program next year.
High School Students “Credit Recovery and Acceleration” (Grades 9-12)
High school students will also utilize Chandler Online Academy as their online summer school platform. Students will be provided the opportunity to register for two courses during each of the two summer sessions. Students may enroll in specially designed credit recovery courses if they have previously taken a course unsuccessfully, or may choose to enroll in course as a “first time” student in any of the summer offerings at Chandler Online Academy.
Chandler Online Academy summer sessions are as follows:
Session 1: June 1 – June 19
Session 2: June 22 – July 10
Summer School enrollment information is available on the Summer School webpage.
