Cycle 1 Information

August 21-September 29

  • Creating the Conditions for Student Learning
  • Readers and Writers Workshop Set Up and Implementation.

Please ensure you are on pace to complete Readers and Writers Unit 1 by the end of the cycle.

Important Information

  • take attendance by 10 am every day. If you are unable to access take attendance on the Attendance Class Roster and submit to the office by 10 am.

  • post the total number of students who have shown up by grade level on your board by 10 am every day in a visible location.

  • Library will begin this week. Please use this week for completing deliverables, F&P testing, planning or preparation. Beginning next week Library will be used for collaborative planning and feedback.

  • Science and Technology will begin next week.

  • This link will take you to a list of all the materials that you need for your Reading and Writing Workshops. Please check and make sure that you have all the mentor texts that go with your Reading and Writing Units of Study. These texts should not be part of the children's library, but remain part of your library and used as mentor texts during your reading and writing mini-lessons. Please email Julie if you are missing any of your mentor texts.

  • 2nd-5th grade teachers please have your Words Their Way Spelling Inventory completed, scored, and WTW groups formed and turned into Julie by Tuesday, September 5th. If you need help with how to administer or score the WTW assessment please let Julie know.

  • Beginning of the Year Checklist is due by Friday 9/1 by 4pm.

PBIS Focus-We are CARING

This week we will focus on CARING. This a great time to collaboratively define what it means to be caring with your students and to ensure you are positively reinforcing students who show caring.

We will be having our first Hoot and Holler Student Event this Wednesday from 1 to 1:30.

Admittance-50 scholar dollars, Treats-20 scholar dollars

Let's make sure we are doing our part to make sure students can attend the event.

By Friday at Lunch, please submit two students to the office who exemplified caring this week.
