STEM 10 Capstone Project

The TC Williams HS 10th Grade STEM Academy needs your help! Students in the STEM Academy will be working on a capstone project throughout the 2014 – 2015 school year focusing on the theme “Our City, Our World.” Students must choose a local problem with global implications to focus on for the entirety of their project and work with a local mentor for 15 hours throughout the year. Mentors will help students develop their project, provide content specific knowledge, and assist with the student group’s project deliverable.

Who Can Mentor?

Local professionals in fields such as engineering, science, architecture, film, policy, and more! Students will choose their topic so we are looking for professionals in a variety of fields to accommodate each group's interests!

How often will mentors work with students?

Throughout the year, teacher advisers will help students maintain contact with their mentors. Students are required to meet with their mentor at TC Williams HS (or virtually) for a minimum of 15 hours through the duration of their capstone project (October - May).
