Week of November 5th - 9th

Gallery Walk

After much thinking, I have decided not to invite parents in for our first Gallery Walk. Instead, I will come around during one of the sessions and take many pictures and some videos to post to Facebook. I failed to get a letter together in a timely manner and this first trimester is definitely going to be a "rough draft" Gallery Walk. I will send a letter to parents explaining this in the next few days.

The schedule to visit other classrooms on Wednesday is as follows:

8:15-9:00 a.m. - 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades tour the classrooms

9:00-9:45 a.m. - 1st and 2nd grade

9:45-10:15 a.m. - Kindergarten

I do understand that there will be disruptions within the classrooms during this time. Ask yourself, what can I assign my students to work on during this time frame? iREADY? Raz-Kids? Read to Self? Watch teacher instruction video and do an assignment?

After this first Gallery Walk, the leadership team will discuss how it went and make changes and adjustments necessary for trimester 2.

Big picture

Did you know????

Ready Math provides teachers with a plethora of assessments to gauge student understanding and mastery? Yes, you have your daily quick check for lessons and the Interim assessment, but have you used the mid-unit assessment and/or end of unit assessment to see how your student's are achieving? The mid-unit assessment is a great piece of data to assist you in planning small group support (using IA's or as a math rotation) and assigning lessons on Moby Max, individualizing for specific children. You can find them both in The Teacher Tool-Box.
