Shorewood Hills Shark Tooth
September 25th, 2020
Wow, it has been a busy first couple of weeks of school. Much like I anticipated, it is one thing to plan for a whole new way of school and another to actually experience what it is like. I am very appreciate of the feedback I've received from some families on what is working and what is not.
To that end, I will send out a survey next Friday to all families to get a broad sense of how things are going for you on a variety of virtual learning topics. I would love to get as many responses as I can! The more informed we are the better planning we can engage in at school.
I continue to be in awe of our staff, students, and families as we navigate this virtual learning journey together. The amount of grace and understanding I have seen is so heartwarming. So, thank you for working together with us and I look forward to hearing more from you via the survey next week.
MTSS: Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
- Regularly review student academic and behavioral data
- Identify students who may be in need of additional supports
- Design plans of support in cooperation with families
- Monitor the success of those plans
- Review and adjust as necessary
At Shorewood, we have a MTSS team that meets weekly. There are times where you may be contacted by an MTSS team member or your child's teacher to discuss implementing an intervention for your student. If you have concerns about your student's achievement in school, you may also request support from the MTSS team. The first step in doing that is to reach out to your child's teacher.
