The Reconstruction
The Freedman's Bureau
Former slave's problems
Former slaves had two main problems, they were uneducted, and unemployed.
Many of them were homless, while some had jobs with very little pay like sharecroppers.
The slaves rented land while working on it, and giving it to the lanowners.
Freedman's Bureau
The Northern congressman made up a society giving former slaves clothes, food, medicine, and money (not very much) called the Freedman's Bureau.
Equal?
The former slaves might have had what they needed, but not what they wanted. They were all mistreated and beat by some Southern people.
