Green Screen & Video iPad Resources
Telling Your Story!
What is a green screen?
The green screen is an integral part of the special effects process known formally as chromakey. Chromakey allows television producers and movie producers to use advanced technology to superimpose their subjects onto an unlimited number of different virtual backgrounds.
What gear do I really need for green screen?
To get started, you just need an iPad (or digital camera that shoots video), some inexpensive software, and a wall that’s painted chroma key green, which does not appear anywhere on your clothing, skin, eyes, or hair. Since walls like that are sometimes hard to find, you consider buying a piece of muslin cloth or a collapsible panel. Here are some options that are currently being used in the district.

How do I use my iPad with green screen?
Green Screen iOS App by Do Ink
We recommend using the Green Screen app by Do Ink as it was created for educational purposes. Green Screen by Do Ink makes it easy to create incredible green screen videos and images right on your iPad. The app lets you combine photos and videos from the camera roll with live images from your iPad's camera. Green Screen by Do Ink allows for users to easily tell a story, explain an idea, and express themselves in a creative and unique way.
