Wade King Elementary
October 1, 2021
A Note from our Administrative Team
Hello Wade King Families,
It's hard to believe it's October and yet the fall weather is definitely here! Classroom routines are established and students are engaged in learning. Our teachers are also getting to know the strengths of your child and are planning for their next steps as learners. On November 4th and 5th, you will join your child for their Student Involved Conference. Your child and their teacher will share their learning goals with you during that conference. As these dates get closer, be thinking of the questions that you want to bring to your conference, and don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher sooner. We want to continue the strong school-family collaboration we benefited from last year. Finally, our PTA has several things planned for October including a virtual Family Night, Spirit Wear Sale, and the return of a few outside After School Activities.

Note from Mrs. Wakefield (our School Counselor)
Hello Wade King Families, greetings from Ms. Wakefield in the counseling office. If your student is in need of more support than offered by me with Brief Solution-Focused counseling, or if you are wondering about how to navigate getting mental health counseling support for your student, I can help. For our students with state insurance or Medicaid, Wade King is partnering with SeaMar Community Health Centers. I can assist you with the newly designed intake forms. If your student has private insurance, I can help you navigate finding a counselor that matches your your insurance and your student needs. One tool that might be helpful is using the PyschologyToday.com website. On this site you can filter for area, type of concerns or issues, age of child, type of counseling preferred, and insurance. Knowing that there are often waitlists for counseling services, I try to keep a current list of therapists who have openings. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns, or ways I can support you and your student at 360-647-6840 or my email firstname.lastname@example.org
Universal 'Free' Meals This Year
Since the first menu of the school year was included in the back-to-school mailing, the Food Services program has been impacted severely by national supply chain issues in the food industry. To keep families updated on what will be served, a two-week menu will be maintained on the school menu webpage. We will be unable to provide elementary print menus for the foreseeable future until supply chains are strong again.
Reminder! All breakfast and lunch meals are provided at no cost to families in the 2021-22 school year thanks to a USDA ruling earlier this summer.
Ways to Help Our PTA Earn Money... that comes right back to supporting our kids!
