Digital Learning Day Winners

Thank you to everyone who had a digital learning activity happening on Digital Learning Day. I was able to capture a lot of great, meaningful work by our students. The winners of the drawing are Ms. Finney from KHS and Mr. Rushing from KMS! Both will have lunch delivered to them.

Learning new tools and incorporating them into your lessons takes time, effort, and a willingness to try to new things. It takes the teacher to be the facilitator of the learning. Thank you to all of you who are making 21st Century Learning a part of your classroom.

Google Certifications

I have received some questions about the requirements for becoming a Google Certified Educator and/or Trainer. This is a great option for all of you Google-savvy educators out there! I have compiled this information for you on our website. Sign into our website, and navigate to Digital Learning Resources under the Staff tab. There you will find a page on how to obtain each level of certification. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Student Projects With Thinglink

Many teachers incorporate student projects into second semester activities and Thinglink is a great tool to use for this. Thinglink allows students to use an image as a backdrop, and then add click-able targets onto the image that link to various things. Behind the targets can be a website, a Google Doc of their writing, another picture, or basically anything they can link to. Check out the sample below. The DL Department will offer the monthly district training on this topic on Wednesday, March 22nd. Sign up to attend in Eduphoria.

Note: The free account allows you to have up to 105 students (think partners!)

Click on the links below and then hover over the targets you see on the image.

Twitter for Teachers

If you aren't on Twitter professionally - you are missing out! I learn so much every day from my Professional Learning Network (PLN). Employees in the district also share great things going on. Join now and become a part of the conversation! Below are some people and schools in SISD I have connected with. Login and follow them! The button below will also walk you through getting started with Twitter.
