    Band News:

We are having several Color Guard Tryouts this month: May 3rd, 5th, 9th, 11th, and May 16th. The times are 5:30PM-7:30PM in the Orchestra Room. Tryouts are open to both males and females alike.

    Do you love music?
    Do you love to dance?
    Do you love to perform?
Do you love meeting new friends?

Color Guard is often considered as the “Sport of the Arts.”

It is both an art form and a sport which requires coordination, strength, hard work, and determination. We perform with the marching band during half-time at football games, combining dance with flags, rifles, and sabres. We also attend field tournaments in which we perform our field show and compete against other marching bands. Color Guard at MLCHS is part of the Marching Band program. While the band performs the music the Color Guard interprets the music through dance and the creative use of costumes and equipment (like flags, rifles, and swing flags). The Guard helps to give life to the music the band is playing.
