Band News:
We are having several Color Guard Tryouts this month: May 3rd, 5th, 9th, 11th, and May 16th. The times are 5:30PM-7:30PM in the Orchestra Room. Tryouts are open to both males and females alike. http://titan-thunder.com/2016/05/02/color-guard-tryouts-this-month/
Do you love music?
Do you love to dance?
Do you love to perform?
Do you love meeting new friends?
Color Guard is often considered as the “Sport of the Arts.”
It is both an art form and a sport which requires coordination, strength, hard work, and determination. We perform with the marching band during half-time at football games, combining dance with flags, rifles, and sabres. We also attend field tournaments in which we perform our field show and compete against other marching bands. Color Guard at MLCHS is part of the Marching Band program. While the band performs the music the Color Guard interprets the music through dance and the creative use of costumes and equipment (like flags, rifles, and swing flags). The Guard helps to give life to the music the band is playing.
Springtime in Kentucky is here. Do you have pollen and dust all over your car? Collins Band has the cure!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 21st. We are having a car wash fundraiser at Ken Towery’s @ 1801 Midland Trail Shelbyville, Kentucky from 10AM to 2PM.
